Our History
Launching in 2004, construction company Shaun Rabbidge Builders has gained a reputation for completing architectural new builds, home renovations and farm buildings to a high standard. We build to the local climate and environment, ensuring your building project is second to none. Our teams of highly skilled carpenters undertake projects of all sizes and work by traditional values which see our clients home, budget and needs respected.
Shaun Rabbidge Builders has been based in Canterbury for the past 22 years. Our experienced and passionate team has worked on hundreds of home builds across the Canterbury and Mackenzie regions and we have access to some of the region’s most experienced tradespeople and subcontractors. We often work alongside architects and designers to create something really special for property owners.

Clear Communication
At the outset we will sit down with you to discuss all the details of your project. In the design phase, we will regularly catch up and contribute to your ideas. During the build phase we will have regular catch-ups on site.
Exceptional Quality
We insist on the highest quality finish every time and will build your home with love and tenderness, as if it were our own. It is our intention to exceed the Building Code and the wants and needs of your project. We also guarantee to use only the best sub-contractors and the best materials.
Transparent Pricing
We are transparent and open in all we do – and guarantee all invoicing will be clear, concise and itemised as in our contract agreement. If and when variations happen, we will get your approval in writing, and not progress without your consent. There will be no hidden surprises.
Timely Updates
We guarantee to keep you fully informed every step of the way. This begins with our start time and, as we progress, you will be kept up to date with a timeline of the building schedule.
Post-Completion Support
At handover time we check every little detail of your building project to ensure we have achieved our high standard of workmanship. We will undertake post-build checks of your home at 6 and 12 months with any workmanship defects fixed at our expense.
